Vehicle trial ends in death of two in Mysuru; three hurt

Mysuru: Two persons were electrocuted when the SUV they were driving, dashed against an electric pole on Manandawadi Road on the outskirts of Mysuru Thursday night.
The dead include an autorickshaw driver who went to help the car inmates to push the vehicle from the accident spot. The mishap occurred when they had taken the vehicle for a trial run. Three injured persons were admitted to KR Hospital.
Sharing details with News Trail, the traffic cops attached to Lakshmipuram Traffic Police Station said Ravi Kumar took a used Innova car for a trial before finalising the purchase.
Along with him, four others, Bhaskar, Ravi, Sandesh, and Shivakumar, also got into the SUV. As they were reportedly driving rashly and negligently, the person driving the vehicle lost control and the vehicle first hit the compound wall near the Railway Workshop and then the electric pole.
At that time, Kiran, an autorickshaw driver who was passing by, rushed to help the injured person. Meanwhile Ravi, who was travelling in the car accidentally stepped on the severed live wire and shouted for help.
Kiran who went to his rescue also got electrocuted. Both of them died on the spot. Three others travelling in the car were admitted to KR Hospital for treatment.
The bodies of the two persons were handed over to the respective families after the autopsy on Friday. Lakshmipuram Traffic Police have registered a case.
