Bengaluru: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Saturday conducted trial runs on its Purple line between Kengeri and Challaghatta metro stations.
The BMRCL started the runs at 11.27 hours and ended them at 16.15 hours, doing it at 10 km per hour. Officials checked the track alignment, speed and other technical challenges during the trial run.
The move comes two days after a trial run was conducted between the most awaited Baiyappanhalli to Krishnarajapuram stations. This connects the Whitefield area to Majestic and other parts of the city, helping more passengers.
However, the Kenger to Challaghatta service is likely to be started in August.
It is believed that these projects under the Bangalore Metro Phase 2 development will help increase the ease of mobility and reduce traffic congestion in the city.
