Investigating officer in women’s paramedical college video case changed

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The investigating officer in the case of the alleged video recording in the women’s paramedical college washroom has been changed. Kundapur Deputy SP Belliappa will now be the lead investigator.

The previous investigating officer, Malpe Circle Inspector Manjunath Gowda, was under pressure from the ABVP to be replaced. There was also public outrage on social media that the police had delayed registering the FIR.

Udupi SP Hakay Akshay Macchindra has decided to appoint additional women police personnel to the investigation team to make it easier for students and college staff to file statements.

The case is a women-related matter, and the SP wants to ensure that the investigation is conducted sensitively
