Bengaluru: An ingenious jewellery shop owner who got two juvenile workers to 'rob' his gold and then filed a false complaint with the police to claim an insurance of Rs 2 crore, has been arrested by Cottonpet police in Bengaluru. Raj Jain, 22, owner of Kesar Jewellers in Nagarathpet, is the culprit.
The juvenile workers who helped him were also picked up by the police. Jain had claimed that his employees were carrying 3.7 kg of gold jewellery in a scooter and were robbed by bike-borne miscreants.
When the police investigated, they found that the accused had applied for an insurance of Rs 2 crore using the FIR copy. It was revealed the accused had trained the juveniles for the act.
