Bengaluru: As Chief Minister Siddaramaiah embarks on his second term in office, there is a notable change in his demeanor with sources saying that despite the overwhelming poll victory, the CM is operating under immense pressure from the party high command besides dealing with various pulls and pressure.

While the high command agreed to his condition for becoming Chief Minister, it is evident that there are a lot of expectations resting on him. The implementation of five guarantee schemes, which the CM is now compelled to fulfill, has created a significant strain on the state’s economy.

This could be one key source of apprehension and unease for him.The challenge of mobilizing resources to meet the enormous expenditure of Rs 55,000 crores required for the implementation of the five guarantee schemes from the next year seems to weighing heavily on him.

Adding to his predicament, the CM is grappling with the demands of a majority of MLAs for more funds to drive development in their respective constituencies.

However, with a significant portion of funds diverted towards the implementation of freebies under the guarantee schemes, Siddaramaiah finds himself in a challenging position, unable to fulfill all the requests.

The high command has reportedly set a condition that the Congress must win around 20 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, and the onus of ensuring this victory is squarely on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

This has also added pressure on him. It is evident that the CM is engaged in a delicate balancing act, trying to fulfill party expectations while managing the economic realities of implementing ambitious welfare schemes.
