Inflow into KRS, Kabini dams drops
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The inflow into dams in the Cauvery Basin has reduced sharply due to slack rain in the last four to five days.
The water level at K.R.Sagar Reservoir in Sriranagapatna taluk of Mysuru District stood at 113 ft as against the maximum level of 124.80 ft. The inflow of water which had touched 50,000 cusecs last week, dropped to 13,164 cusecs on Monday and the outflow had been restricted to 1445 cusecs.
The total storage in the dam was 34.152 tmc as against the total capacity of 49.452 tmc.
Meanwhile, the water level at Kabini Dam was 2283.35 (maximum level 2284 ft) with an inflow of 4252 cusecs and an outflow of 3500 cusecs. The drastic reduction of inflow into these two days was due to the absence of rain.
