In another case of moral policing, cops arrest 5 of right-wing group
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Karkala police in Udupi on Wednesday arrested five members of Hindu Jagarana Vedika (HJV), a rightwing group affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for allegedly waylaid the travellers in a car near Kuntalpady and harassed them.
It is found that the incident took place on July 29, but came to the limelight lately. The victims are four doctors and two lady professors belonging to different communities who came to Karkala from Mangaluru in a car.
The police rushed to the spot after the victims reported about the incident and arrested Santhosh Nandalike, Karthik Poojary, Sunil Moolya Miyar, Sandeep Poojary and Suchith Safaliga.
