Bengaluru: Everyone knows that Thindi Beedhi or Food Street is a popular area in VV Puram for the foodies in the city.
However after the completion of the remodelling works, the fame of the Thindi Beedhi is further expected to get doubled as the street will sport a red colour to make it more attractive.
The BBMP has chosen to coat the 200-metre-long and five-metre-wide concrete road with red paint to enhance the visual appeal of the iconic street.
"So far, about 75 per cent of the work has been completed and the road will be opened to the public, most likely this month, once all the work is completed," a BBMP official told News Trail.
The official said that they are experimenting with a new concrete pigment from UltraTech cement.
"The concrete road is getting a coat of a 3mm iron oxide pigment," the official added.
BBMP Zonal Commissioner (South) Jayaram Raipura said the facelift is a pointer to how a public space can be transformed to make it more user-friendly and visually appealing
