History-sheeter steps out of jail only to be hacked to death

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A 33-year-old history-sheeter Siddapura Mahesh was hacked to death a few minutes after he was released from the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru on Friday.

The murder is a second gangland murder in a single month. The deceased was accused of multiple crimes of assault and murder in the south division of the city and was the primary accused in the murder of N Madan, a rowdy, at the Banashankari Metro Station on July 2, 2021.

In this case, the police named Mahesh and 16 others as accused. The incident happened a km away from the central prison at around 9 pm.

However, the police, who began the investigations, enquired about Gopi, the car driver from which Mahesh was picked up after walking out of the prison, along with Madan’s associates, Wilson Garden Naga and Double Meter Mohan.

According to the police, Mahesh was suspected to have emerged as a challenger to them and their business.

According to reports, the Jayanagar police, in their chargesheet said that Madan’s murder could be the fallout of enmity between Mahesh and Madan as the latter had threatened to kill Mahesh’s associate Naveen Kumar.
