Suspecting she was cheating on him, techie attacks girlfriend with iron rod

Bengaluru: Mico Layout police arrested a techie for allegedly attacking his girlfriend with an iron road suspecting that she is cheating on him.

The incident took place on Wednesday but came to light only after the victim's friends reported the matter to the police. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Nimhans here.

It was revealed that Ravikumar, 28, and the victim, 26, are both techies and were working with a private firm in Indiranagar for about a year now.

The victim had joined the company as an intern after which the two fell in love. The issues between the two surfaced after the victim decided to go to another firm and reportedly began to avoid Ravikumar.

Suspecting that she is having another affair, Ravikumar called her to his paying guest accommodation in Mico Layout around 3.30 am on Wednesday and hit her on the head with an iron rod.

Some locals immediately shifted the badly injured woman to the hospital.

The Mico Layout police have registered a case and arrested Ravikumar. Further probe is underway
