Three die in two separate accidents

Bengaluru: Three people died in two separate road accidents that took place in the city on Sunday night.

In the first incident, two people of one family died while another sustained grievous injuries in a hitand-run case on BEL Road in Sanjaynagar late on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Raghu and his son Chiranjeevi. The injured person is Raghu’s son-inlaw Vasu.

It was revealed that the trio was riding triple on a motorcycle when a speeding car hit them around 11.30 pm near the Isro traffic signal.

While Raghu and Chiranjeevi died on the spot, Vasu is battling for life. The police have arrested one of the accused, Akash, the son of a former zilla panchayat member from Ramanagara, in this connection.

It is said that Akash, who was completely drunk, was returning after a party at a pub. Six people, including Akash and Nitin, were drinking at a pub and got out around 11 pm.

The police said that Nitin had insisted that he would drive the car and was speeding at about 80 kmph when the car first hit an autorickshaw.

Panicked, they drove faster and hit the trio on a motorcycle some distance ahead. Some locals blocked the car and caught hold of Akash, but the other five escaped.

Joint Commissioner of Police (traffic) MN Anuchet said the Sadashivanagar police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the other accused who fled from the spot.

In another incident, a person who was riding along with his eight-yearold daughter lost control of his scooter near Peenya Traffic Police Station limits here.

While the man survived with severe injuries, his daughter died on the spot. Ramesh, a resident of Nelagadaranahalli, was riding on a scooter with his daughter Nakshatra, 8, a student of class three at a private school.
