KIA police rescue dog from illegally parked car

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Police personnel at the Kempegowda International Airport arrested a man after his pet dog was found trapped inside his car, which was left unattended in a 'No Parking' zone at a KIA terminal.

The incident took place on Monday around 5 pm when a few passers-by noticed a car parked on Lane 3 of KIA Terminal-1 for more than an hour without the owner around.

Despite several announcements being made, when nobody came near the car, the personnel grew suspicious.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) along with Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) reached the spot and were shocked to find a dog locked inside the car and was visibly struggling to breathe.

The security personnel smashed the window glass and rescued the animal. The officials identified the owner of the car as Vikram Ramdas Lingeshwar, 30, and arrested him.

It was found that he is a resident of Papaiah Layout in Kasturi Nagar here. He failed to produce travel documents following which an FIR was registered against him by the airport police.

The police found that the person was not in a clear state of mind after which the police summoned his parents. Sources from the police said the parents claimed that Lingeshwar had escaped from home in the car after he overheard his parents planning to admit him in a mental asylum.

Lingeshwar was later released on station bail. Further investigation is underway.
