Yoga instructor held for killing fiancée

Bengaluru: A 27-year-old yoga instructor has been arrested for reportedly killing his fiancée after being in a live-in-relationship for almost a year. The victim, Ganga, 34, hailing from Udupi, who was earlier working as a nurse. She got to know the accused, Shyam, 27, a native of Dandeli, and she began attending his yoga classes. Later she too started working as a yoga instructor by opening her own yoga institute. To open this institute she had taken a loan of Rs 1 lakh from the accused. The two had planned to get married in February next year. Shyam had also taken a house on rent in Yelahanka Satellite Town.

The victim was unable to pay her debt and was seeking more time to repay the loan. Frustrated over this, Shyam had killed her by hitting her head with an iron idol and strangulating her. The murder had happened on Tuesday, while the accused was arrested on the next day. Shyam also used to feel irritated with Ganga, as she was asking too many questions about his personal life.

Yelahanka New Town police have registered a case and are further investigating.
