BJP will lose Lok Sabha polls, says Siddu

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday reaffirmed his belief that the BJP would lose the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be to blame.

He made the remarks at the inauguration of the general body meeting of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) at the Bharat Jodo Hall of the KPCC office.

“I am speaking from my experience. I say it without any exaggeration. BJP will lose at the Centre in 2024. Prime Minister Modi does not attend the Parliament sessions properly. He did not pay attention to the problems of the people. He just does Mann Ki Baat. Even in the programme the people of the country are not mentioned,” Siddaramaiah said.

He had made similar comments on the floor of the Council back in July, claiming Modi’s popularity had been waning and that his “downfall” had begun with the May 10 Karnataka Assembly election which Congress won by a landslide.

The CM added the Grand Old Party would win at least 20 Lok Sabha seats.

“Our workers should not relax after the Assembly elections. You have assured the high command that you will win at least 20 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. You will win more seats than this,” Siddaramaiah said.

He added that “BJP’s truth would come out soon” in reference to the investigations of alleged scams of the previous government.

This includes a judicial probe into the claims made by contractors about alleged commission demands made by ministers in the BJP government.
