Carcasses of stray dogs found in RR Nagar
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: It is suspected that unidentified miscreants are killing stray dogs in Hosakerehalli ward in RR Nagar and dumping the carcasses near bushes and at isolated places in the city.
Recently the animal rights activists had found at least 18 dogs that were allegedly poisoned and killed.
Apart from this, the activists have also recovered eight carcasses of which five were completely decomposed.
Sadhana He gde, the founder of an NGO and member of Beng aluru The Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) said in a video message, “We received information that 18 dogs were missing from around Shanmuga temple in RR Nagar for a week. Some parking attendants and flower vendors told us that a man came in a white coloured car, fed the dogs something like milk and shot videos the next day,” she said.
She alleged that when some activists conducted a search around the area, they found eight carcasses and a search is on for the other carcasses. The AHVS and the BBMP, along with the police, are also investigating and the postmortem of the carcasses will be conducted.
All the dogs were found tied up, she said. Sadhana also said that it has become common for people to kill stray dogs over trivial reasons and demanded that the police should take action in this regard.
The BBMP should also create awareness and take strict action against the miscreants, she added.
