Bengaluru: J D(S) legislature party leader HD Kumaraswamy hit back at former party colleague and Agriculture Minister Chaluvarayaswamy on Monday, pointing out that the former had corruption allegations against him.

The minister had quipped that Kumaraswamy had gone on multiple foreign tours as of late and that his government could arrange for him to stay abroad comfortably.

“Should I arrange with them for a foreign trip? Should I utilize the money they acquired by way of sin? Am I not capable of going abroad myself ?” Kumaraswamy asked.

The former chief minister added that he had been to Cambodia for a personal visit and religious reasons. He visited the famed Angkor Wat temple in that country.

He also met the Cambodian General Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Kem Cheet, adding that the South East Asian country’s economy had been growing at an impressive 7.7 per cent.

The JD(S) leader said that he had taken a break after dedicating 12 years for the party organization.

Kumaraswamy also asked Chaluvarayaswamy as to why he had visited Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot if the corruption allegations against him were fake, referring to a letter, reportedly by agriculture department officials claiming the minister demanded bribes.
