Army officer dies on his daughter’s birthday

Mysuru, NT Buruea: In a tragic incident, an armyman died of cardiac arrest on the birthday of his daughter at Suggehalli in KR Nagar taluk of Mysuru district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Subedar Suresh, 42, who was serving in the Indian Army. He was in his native place, Suggehalli on a 25-day holiday.

He had been serving in the Army for the last 19 years. Subedar Suresh used to celebrate his children’s birthday by feeding poor people at an orphanage in Doornahalli village of K.R. Nagar taluk.

On Monday, the family was ready with the food and was all set to go in a vehicle to celebrate their daughter Prakruthi’s birthday in the orphanage.

Suddenly, he complained of chest pain and was taken to Bherya Primary Health Centre where he breathed his last. The last rites of the army officer were held in the village.
