Youth dies, another injured while performing wheelie

Bengaluru: Two days after a tragic car accident took the lives of two youths, a 25-year-old biker died while another man was severely injured after they engaged in a wheelie stunt on the way to Nandi Hills on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Adil, a resident of Bengaluru. The youth was on his way to Nandi Hills with a group of friends on multiple twowheelers.

Police said that he died after a head-on collision between two bikes. The accident allegedly occurred when the two bikers were performing wheelie on the road without wearing any safety gear.

The accident happened near Karahalli in Devanahalli taluk. Despite repeated warnings from senior police officials, incidents of youngsters performing bike stunts and uploading them on social media platforms are increasing.

The city traffic police have initiated a drive and arrested multiple bikers and seized bikes after videos of them performing stunts on public roads went viral on social media platforms.

Early morning on Sunday, a jolly ride turned tragic for five engineering students when two of them died and three others suffered critical injuries after their speeding car rammed into a metal divider railing near Palanahalli Gate on the airport road.

It was revealed that they were on their way to Nandi Hills.
