Bengaluru: The Lalbagh Flower Show was in full bloom on the last day of the annual event, drawing visitors from all over the state to see the stunning displays of thousands of different flowers.
The festival had been inaugurated on August 4 by CM Siddaramaiah, and since then, over 4.50 lakh people had visited the botanical park, generating over Rs 3.98 crore in ticket sales.
Over 90 thousand people visited the park over the weekend on August 12 and 13 alone. The highlight of the festival was the beautiful replica of the Vidhana Soudha, the state legislature building, made of flowers.
This year, a tribute to Kengal Hanumanthaiah, who played a key role in the construction of the city, was also made.
On August 15, to encourage people to use public transport, the BMRCL issued a paper ticket for Rs 30 at the Lalbagh Metro Station, which allowed passengers to travel to any metro station without incurring additional expenses.
