Bengaluru: In yet another accident involving a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus, a two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot near the Dasarahalli Metro Station on Thursday.

The deceased, identified as Basappa, 42, hailed from Andhra Pradesh and was working as a security guard at a private company. He was returning home to Bagalakunte when the accident occurred.

It is alleged that the BMTC bus knocked him down and due to the impact, Basappa's bike went out of control and hit a car moving ahead. However the jurisdictional traffic police said that the probe is still on.

The Peenya traffic police visited the spot and a case has been registered in this connection. On Wednesday, a fouryear-old girl was run over by a BMTC bus on Uttarahalli Main Road.

In a separate incident, a woman, who was riding pillion with her husband, was killed after their two-wheeler skidded upon hitting a stone and a school bus ran over her head.

The deceased was identified as Sumangala, 58, while her husband Sharanappa survived with minor injuries.

While the two were riding on the Chikkagollarahatti near Magadi Road, the scooter hit a stone and the couple fell on the road. A private school bus coming from behind ran over the woman's head, killing her on the spot.

The school bus driver, however, escaped from the spot and the police are on a look out for him. According to sources, the road is riddled with potholes and accidents are witnessed frequently on this road.

The Madanayakanahalli police visited the spot and have registered a case.
