Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said the environment is conducive for investment, be it foreign or domestic, in tier two cities, naming Tumakuru and Davangere in particular.

He made the comments after holding discussions with Consul General of the US Consulate in Chennai, Christopher W Hodges.

“Karnataka is the second highest tax paying state and has an investor friendly eco-system. The law and order situation is in place and skilled human resources are available,” Siddaramaiah said, extending an invitation to make more investments in the state.

The CM promised to provide “all necessary support and cooperation” for the opening of an American Consulate in Bengaluru.

“Excited to be here in Bengaluru and to see optimism and energy in the partnerships here. With over 650 American companies and 30 years for the US on the ground here, our commitment is clear. I enjoyed discussing with the CM ways we can take his partnership even further,” Hodges said.

Head of Political and Economic Department Virsa Perkins , Political and Economic Officer Jason Evans and CM’s Political Secretary K Govindaraju were present.
