Will you probe ‘scams’ flagged by CAG? CM asks Modi

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he would order an inquiry into the irregularities in infrastructure projects and schemes cited by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in its report.
Congress at the Centre has been labeling them “seven scams”.
“Dear Narendra Modi, we are walking the talk on the 40 per cent commission charges made by the state’s contractors against the previous BJP government by instituting a committee under retired judge Nagmohan Das. When will you probe the irregularities of your own government cited by the CAG and live up to your slogan of ‘na khaunga, na khane doonga’ (won’t usurp, nor let others),” Siddaramaiah said.
Congress has been citing CAG’s flagging of massive cost escalations in road projects like the Bharatmala and the Dwarka Expressway, illegal tolls collected by NHAI, among others irregularities.
