Bengaluru: Social media popularity among residents in the Capital city has motivated the police to use it for day-to-day interaction and improved community policing.

And, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda has decided to make the most of the opportunity social media platform offers. The IT-savvy top cop will be hosting a one-hour live Q&A session on X, previously Twitter, to facilitate direct communication with the CP between 12 pm to 1 pm on Saturday.

During the session, citizens are encouraged to ask questions and provide inputs on various issues related to policing in Bengaluru using the hashtag #AMAWITHBCP.

The Police Commissioner has assured that he will try his best to respond to as many queries as possible. Police Commissioner Dayananda said that the initiative is a part of the focus on promoting effective citizen engagement and building a stronger relationship between the police and the public.

Usually, during the monthly 'Masika Janasamparka Divasa,' the jurisdictional police, DCPs and the Police Commissioner himself, interacts with the public and addresses their grievances.

However this time, the top cop hopes to establish a direct line of communication with citizens over social media.
