Bengaluru: Reschedule your journey dates if you are planning to travel on Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway on August 21 as the BJP plans to close the highway at Induvala near Mandya on August 21 (Monday) protesting against the release of Cauvery water to the neighbouring Tamil Nadu for the last three days and doing injustice to the farmers of Karnataka.

This decision was taken at a meeting of Mandya District BJP Unit which was attended by Mandya Lok Sabha member Sumalatha Ambareesh and former BJP MLC Ashwathnarayana in Mandya.

They slammed the Siddaramaiah-led Congress Government for releasing water to Tamil Nadu after Chief Minister MK Stalin threatened to move the Supreme Court over not releasing water to his state by Karnataka as per the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

The Siddaramaiah government was releasing thousands of cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu from the dams in the Cauvery basin.
