Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Hotels Association (BBHA) has taken upon itself to encourage its members in particular and managers of eateries in general to reduce food wastage.
In a letter co-signed by BBHA president PC Rao and general secretary Veerendra Kamat, the hotel association said that some 30 per cent of all food was being wasted and that the trend needed to be checked.
They also mentioned the fact that Food and Civil Supplies Minister KH Muniyappa had made a similar appeal to stop food wastage, which was termed as a good initiative.
They also asked eateries to stop using an excessive amount of paper tissues, calling for the use of better reusable alternatives.
