Siddaramaiah dropped from Congress Working Committee

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday became one of the prominent leaders dropped from the Congress Working Committee (CWC) less than a year from the Lok Sabha elections of 2024.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot was also dropped from the list in what seems to be a move to relieve sitting chief ministers from additional party responsibilities.

All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge announced the major reshuffle on Sunday with the hope of injecting fresh blood into the CWC ahead of the general elections.

As many as 28 new members were inducted in the body with names like former Union ministers Shashi Tharoor and Sachin Pilot figuring prominently.
