63-year-old woman accuses widower of false promise of marriage

Bengaluru: A 63-year-old woman has filed a complaint against a 70-year-old widower of cheating her with a false promise of marriage.

A case has been registered at the Women Police Station in the Bengaluru East Division. The woman, who lost her husband a few years ago, stated in her complaint that she met the man while he was looking for a bride for his son.

After a few meetings, both became friends and then grew closer to each other.

The woman alleged that both of them had gone on a trip to several places including Mysuru, Davangere and Belagavi recently. During the trip, she asked him to marry her.

The accused, who initially agreed, later started ignoring the woman. In her complaint, the woman also alleged that the man threatened her with dire consequences.

The police said that both of them have known each other for five years and the spouses of both the victim and the accused had passed away earlier. Police are investigating the case indepth.
