HC refuses to quash case against D Roopa

Bengaluru: The High Court on Monday refused to quash the defamation case filed by IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri against IPS officer D Roopa.

The single judge bench of Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar, which heard the petition filed by D Roopa Moudgil seeking to quash the case against her, refused to entertain her contentions and dismiss the petition.

D Roopa now faces the prospect of facing trial.

Earlier Justice M Nagaprasanna had recused from hearing the petition as he had represented Sindhuri as an advocate. The petition therefore came up before the new bench for hearing.
