Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has convened an allparty meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11 am to discuss the Cauvery and Mahadayi River disputes and to find solutions.

The CM has tweeted that “the storage in all the major reservoirs is less even for drinking water and irrigation purposes due to less than normal rainfall during the monsoon season. In this distressing situation, we have to adhere to the orders of the Supreme Court and the Cauvery River Management Authority about the sharing of Cauvery water.’’

He said on the one hand, the government has to protect the interest of Kannadigas and on the other hand, they have to follow the court order.

In this difficult situation, leaders of all parties and Lok Sabha members must participate in tomorrow’s meeting to give constructive suggestions as well as extend cooperation.

This is required to protect the interests of the state and its people, he said.
