Bengaluru: In a compelling assertion, celebrated speaker and political analyst Yogendra Yadav has declared that the era dominated by the ‘Gujarat Model’ has now given way to a fresh paradigm: ‘Model Karnataka’.

Speaking at an event hosted by Bharat Scouts and Guides Karnataka, Yadav fervently scrutinised policies of the ruling BJP in the centre.

His incisive critique notably dissected the renowned Gujarat Model, revealing its “inherent shortcomings”.

He highlighted that the government's emphasis tends to favour the privileged, often sidelining the foundational lower echelons of society.

Yadav passionately advocated for a recalibration toward regionalism while ensuring the continued effectiveness of centralised efforts in maintaining a well-balanced democratic framework.

The need for significant infrastructural advancement in Karnataka resonated as a key theme in Yadav's address. He emphasised the urgency for substantial development within the State, casting a discerning eye on the “lacklustre” efforts of the previous state administration in this “critical domain”.

A crescendo rose at the ‘Jagrutha Karnataka’ Yadav when introduced the term ‘Dakshinayan’. This concept found resonance with Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and women's empowerment advocate UT Farzana, together recognising Karnataka's potential as a trailblazing exemplar.

Yadav's fervent call for the decentralisation of power struck a harmonious chord. Critiquing the perceived imposition of a Hindi-centric agenda by the BJP, he championed the preservation of State-specific identities and diversity.

Leveraging his profound expertise as a seasoned political scientist, Yadav presented strategic frameworks to safeguard these cultural nuances and harmonies from the encroachments of centralisation.
