Mysuru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar asserted that the Congress is not pursuing an “Operation Hasta” strategy and emphasized that BJP and JD(S) leaders are instead expressing interest to join the Congress on their own accord.

Shivakumar also extended a warm welcome to those who choose to join his party. Shivakumar was in the city to participate in a preparatory meeting for the inauguration of the Gruhalakshmi scheme.

When asked about alleged efforts by the Congress party to attract JD(S) MLAs, he refrained from delving into the topic stating that a discussion at the moment would not be appropriate.

On the decision to shift the Gruhalakshmi scheme launch from Belagavi to Mysuru, he stated that there are no political motives behind this change.

He clarified that another programme is being planned in Belagavi and the decision to shift the location of the Grihalakshmi project was unanimous.

Shivakumar expressed confidence about Congress prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and predicted victory in the Lok Sabha seats in Belagavi.

He further explained that while the Annabhagya scheme launch was initially intended to be held in Mysuru, certain obstacles arose, leading to the decision to launch the Gruhalakshmi project in the city.

He noted that shifting the event to Mysuru was aimed at avoiding potential traffic-related challenges.
