Temporary disruption in drinking water supply expected on Aug 26

Bengauluru, NT Bureau: Residents are advised to prepare for a temporary disruption in drinking water supply on August 26 (Saturday) as the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) undertakes essential repair work in the 4th phase of the Cauvery drinking water supply project.

Significant progress has been made under the ongoing 4th Phase 1st Phase of the project, including the completion of a 900 mm diameter water supply pipeline near JP Nagar 4th Phase Metro Station, Bannerghatta Road, and areas adjacent to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) route.

The upcoming repair task involves connecting this new pipeline to the existing network.

As a result, residents in several areas across Bengaluru can anticipate a temporary alteration in their Cauvery water supply on August 26, 2023.

The impacted areas include: JP Nagar 3rd to 7th Phase, Ghatta Arakere, Mico Layout, Vijaya Bank Colony, Sour Mango, Bilekahalli, Syndicate Bank Colony, Konanakunte, Chunchaghatta, Jaraganahalli, Ranga Colony, Jayanagar 4th T Block, Tilak Nagar, S.R. Krishnappa Garden, B.T.M. 2nd Stage, Madiwala, Dollars Colony, Gurappanapalya, Tavarekere, Bismillah Nagar, H.S.R. Layout (1st Sector to 7th Sector), Mangammanapalya, Electronic City, Koramangala (1st Block to 4th Block), Bellandur, ST Bed, Jakkasandra Venkatapura, Shantinagar Co-operative Society, and surrounding areas.

The BWSSB urges the public to cooperate by storing an adequate amount of water to meet their needs during the supply disruption.

This proactive approach will contribute to a smoother process and minimal inconvenience for residents.
