Man from UP arrested for transporting ganja-laced chocolates in B'luru

Bengaluru: The city police arrested a man from Uttar Pradesh who was allegedly transporting 10 bags filled with chocolates laced with ganja (marijuana), weighing 300 kg, in an autorickshaw here, the police said on Thursday.

Sources from the police stated that the suspect was arrested by the RMC Yard police in north Bengaluru on Wednesday evening.

Acting on credible information, the police stopped an auto-rickshaw at a lorry stand and conducted a search.

When questioned, the suspect in the autorickshaw revealed that the bag contained chocolates and he was transporting them for sale. Upon discovering that the chocolates were laced with ganja, the suspect was taken into custody, and the drugs were seized.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had procured the chocolates from Uttar Pradesh’s Khanpur to distribute them in Bengaluru.

In addition to the ganjalaced chocolates, the police also seized a mobile phone from the accused, which is currently being examined for any potential links.
