PM Modi lands in Bengaluru but fails to meet BJP leaders?

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived in the city to congratulate scientists at Isro for successfully scripting history by landing Chandrayaan-3 on the southern part of the Moon.

However, the PM reportedly did not meet any BJP leader from the state unit who were present outside the airport along wiht a large number of BJP workers waving flags.

Modi landed at HAL Airport directly from Greece and addressed the public gathered outside to receive him. The Karnataka BJP unit’s state Nalin Kumar Kateel and former minister R Ashok were seen among the crowd.

This development comes after the humiliating defeat of the BJP in the recent Assembly pols despite a high voltage campaign including roadshows carried out by the PM.

The Modi factor obviously did not work in the state. Political experts felt the PM and the BJP national leadership are not too concerned now about Karnataka and the state unit which is evident from the fact that they have not cared to appoint an Opposition leader in the Assembly or a BJP state president replacing Nalin Kumar Kateel.

More than a hunded days have elapsed since the Assembly poll results. Meanwhile, the ruling Cong ress par ty has alleged that this was a “tragedy that could happen only in a dictatorship”.
