Furious at barking dog, man stabs another assuming he is owner

Bengaluru: A daily wager was booked under an attempt-to-murder case after he allegedly attacked an elderly man in Malleswaram here.
The matter came to light after the injured victim filed a complaint with the jurisdictional police against the accused, identified as Raju.
The incident is said to have taken place on the night of August 21 when the accused was walking along the Malleswaram 7th Cross Road and a dog started barking at him.
Scared and furious, the accused looked around and saw the victim coming from the opposite direction and thought that he was the owner of the dog. Assuming that the victim had deliberately let the dog unleashed, an angry Raju stormed towards the victim and started attacking him with a knife.
During the scuffle, the victim suffered cut injuries on his jaw and hands. Later a few passers-by shifted the injured victim to KC General Hospital.
The police later scanned the CCTV footage and caught the accused. An FIR has been filed against him, the police said.
