Six people killed in SUV-bus collision in Kanakapura

NT Correspondent ,Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, six passengers were killed on the spot after a SUV they were travelling in collided with a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus near Kemmale Gate of Kanakapura Taluk on Monday evening.

According to Sathanur police, the passengers were on their way toBengaluru from Male Mahadeshwara Hills while the KSRTC bus wastravelling from Kanakapura to Halagur, near Mandya.

The cops suspect both vehicles were moving at high speed when they collided with each other.

The police identified the deceased as Nagesh, Govind and Kumara, whowere working at a hotel in the Legislators' Home in Bengaluru. Jyothirlingappa was a section officer in the Legislative Assembly section of Vidhana Soudha.

Shanth Kumar was said to be a junior assistant and the sixth person was identified as Puttaraju. The bodies were taken to a government hospital in Kanakapura.

A few passengers in the KSRTC bus were also injured. Thedriver, BT Nagaraj is in a serious condition.

The KSRTC bus, KA 42 F1745, was attached to Kanakapura depot in Ramanagar district, KSRTC said in a statement later in the day.
