Every day is dog’s day in our house: Dhanya Ramkumar

Bengaluru: International Dog Day may have come and gone, but that doesn’t bother Dhanya Ramkumar, granddaughter of late Dr Rajkumar, for it is a dog’s day every single day in her house, according to the Sandalwood actor.

“Every time a new dog moves into our house, it's like adding a new family member; they become part of our family. We are extremely fortunate to have these lives in our lives, both for me and my family,” she told News Trail.

She fondly remembers all the pets they have had.

“We miss Milo, Brandy and Rocky and we look forward to adding to and enhancing the ones we currently have. We treat our babies, Mia and Troy, the bullies, at the local store every single day. Any new toy meant for pets we come across, we buy for the bullies.

“They are spoilt, and that’s the way we like them. There is no need for a designated day to honour dogs. In this house, we treat them like kings and queens every day,” she added.

Echoing her sentiments was Anmol Bajaj, founder of House of Plush.

“I genuinely feel attached to my dog. In fact, he helps improve my mental health,” she said.

She hangs out with her dog when at home. “I prefer spending relaxing moments with him than going out or partying. I would rather do this, for he’s so sweet. He also likes being around me, whether I’m working or watching Netflix,” the dog lover said.

Anmol occasionally takes her pet out on long drives, which he loves. “I make it a point to take him to a dog park, so he can interact with other dogs, and for a shower afterward.

He is the only dog that follows me around when I walk. I don't even use a leash on our walks,” she added.
