Kumaraswamy’s Facebook account hacked

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a rather strange occurrence, the official Facebook account of JD(S) legislature party leader HD Kumaraswamy was hacked on Saturday.

The hackers appear to not have done any major damage as they only changed the profile picture to that of a girl and then cars parked in front of a fast food restaurant.

People suspect that the account had been hacked because of the changes. The changes appear to have been reversed as Kumaraswamy’s picture has been reinstated as the profile picture of the verified account.

This isn’t the first time that a politician’s Facebook page has been hacked. In the lead up to the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, independent candidate from Mandya Sumalatha Ambareesh saw her Facebook account hacked in April.

She went on to contest and win against JD(S) candidate and Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil in May by a huge margin.
