Siddu slams BJP on judicial probes criticism

Mysuru, NT Bureau: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday laid into the principal Opposition party BJP over its criticism of the judicial probes ordered by the State government.

Back in May 2021, anywhere between 24 and 36 people had died on account of non-availability of oxygen cylinders in the Chamarajanagar district hospital during the Covid second wave.

The vast majority of the patients had been suffering from Covid while the rest had been dealing with other respiratory illnesses. Congress, then in the Opposition, had flayed the BJP State government for alleged mismanagement of the Covid crisis and has now instituted an inquiry.

Former Health Minister K Sudhakar on Monday suggested that Cunha was a “biased judge”, adding that the probe was politically motivated. Other BJP leaders have similarly called the investigations “politics of hate”.
