Congress has delivered as promised, says Zameer Ahmed

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: While celebrating 100 days in office in Karnataka, the Congress government launched Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, a welfare scheme for women, across the state on Wednesday.

Launching the scheme in Bengaluru, Housing and Minority Welfare minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan said that the Congress government under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, has fulfilled four of five guarantees and will look forward to deliver all that had been promised to the people of Karnataka.

Addressing a gathering at a BBMP Junior College in Chamarajpet, Zameer said that the mantra of the Congress government is development, while the BJP relies on spreading hate in society for political gains.

“Under the revolutionary scheme known as Gruha Lakshmi, around 1.28 crores of women have received Rs 2000 directly in their bank accounts today. We are sure that this small financial aid will make a big difference to so many families reeling under financial burden,” Zameer said.

He said that the state government under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is working towards the development of Karnataka along with strengthening the unity of people.

“Whenever the Congress has come into power, it has mainly focused on working towards uplifting the poor and bringing up welfare schemes for them. To ensure the implementation of the five guarantee schemes, the state government is spending Rs 60,000 crores a year. This is our commitment,” he added.

Several local leaders and Congress members were also present at the venue.
