Hindutva group protests in Mandya against ‘illegal’ mosque
Mandya, NT Bureau: Former Members of Bajrang Sene, a Hindutva group, and a few locals on Thursday protested in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mandya over the construction of a mosque and the construction of an illegal road in front of the temple.
They staged a protest by marching from the M Visvesvaraya statue to the DC’s office opposing the construction. Manjunath, who led the protest, said the construction of the road should happen on allocated land and not in front of the temple.
“Constructing roads on public property is not right as it might lead to clashes. The DC should intervene and remove the road that is being constructed”, he said.
The temple is located inside the Halahalli Slum Board Layout.
