BMRCL energises 66 kV cable in Hebbagodi for Yellow Line
NT Correspondent
Bengaluru: A 66-kilovolt singlecircuit underground cable, originating from the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) Substation in Yarandahalli and extending to the Metro depot in Hebbagodi, has been energized since August 30th.
The cable, which spans a length of 4.27 kilometers, follows these routes: Metal Road (KPTCL Yarandahalli Substation Road), Garden Residency - Bommasandra Link Road, Jigani Link Road, Hulimangala - NH-7 Main Road, and Hebbagodi Police Station, NH-44.
It's important to note that direct contact with this cable could be fatal. The public is strongly advised against unauthorized digging in the vicinity.
The Yellow Line, which runs from Rashtriya Vidyalaya Road to Bommasandra, is anticipated to open to the public by the end of this year, following considerable delays.
This line passes through key hubs such as the Central Silk Board, Electronic City, and Jayadeva Hospital. While construction of the overhead line and the station building is complete, the final steps involving power and track establishment are still pending.
