BL Santhosh should focus on retaining BJP leaders first: Shettar

Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister and MLC Jagadish Shettar has remarked that BJP general secretary BL Santhosh should be more concerned about retaining MLAs and former MLAs within the BJP to ensure the party’s survival in the state.

In response to Santhosh’s claim that Congress MLAs were in touch with him, Shettar stated that it’s one thing to contact individuals from other parties but quite another to form a new government.

He questioned whether the BJP’s approach is merely centered on orchestrating operations to seize power.

Shettar noted that the BJP has never secured a clear majority in Karnataka unlike the Congress which had won 135 seats this time. The former CM dubbed the BJP a ‘sinking ship’ that is deteriorating day by day.

He emphasized the need for BJP leaders to contemplate on Santhosh’s statements.

Shettar also highlighted the challenges faced by state BJP leaders asserting that the party is losing its foothold in Karnataka as it is controlled by a select few individuals.
