Notorious gang of robbers arrested

Bengaluru: A notorious interstate gang involved in robbing houses was arrested by the Attibele police.

According to police sources, the gang would tie up the occupants before robbing their houses for valuables.

The arrested accused were identified as N Satish Kumar, Manikantan, Satish, Ayyanar, Kiran and Satish, all hailing from Hosur in Tamil Nadu.

The police said that they were involved in several theft cases. According to the police, they used to break into houses and would tie up the hands and feet of the occupants. In Anekal, the gang robbed gold ornaments from a lone residing woman.

The gang had also broken into the house of an LIC agent at Kumara Layout in Attibele during November last year. A probe had revealed that the gang had checked around his house threefour times in the guise of getting an LIC policy before committing the robbery.

The accused tied the hands and feet of the elderly man with tape, pasted his mouth, threatened him with a sharp weapon, and further demanded cash from him.

They took away gold jewelry and cash.
