JD(S) to kick off tour from Kalyana-Karnataka

Bengaluru: The JD(S) is likely to kick off its state-wide tour from the Kalyana Karnataka region, party state president CM Ibrahim said.
The tour will get underway after a JD(S) convention on September 10. Kalyana-Kar nataka or Hyderabad-Karnataka refers to the region bordering Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
This includes districts such as Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Ballari, Chikkaballapura and Kolar.
Ibrahim said that the most important issue right now would be to impress upon the State government that relief for farmers was of utmost importance since “more than 400 talukas” had been suffering from drought.
Moreover, JD(S) legislature party president HD Kumaraswamy was discharged from the hospital on Sunday. He had suffered a minor stroke in the wee hours of Wednesday and had admitted himself to Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar.
The party had also suffered a setback as their lone MP in the Lok Sabha Prajwal Revanna (Hassan) was disqualified by the Karnataka High Court on Friday for “providing incorrect information in his election affidavit”.
