50% BBMP work dues to be released, says Shivakumar

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday said that a decision had been taken to release pending dues for 50 per cent of the works done under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits.

He made the comments while responding to mediapersons near the Chief Minister’s home office Krishna.

“A decision has been reached to release 50 per cent of the money for completed works on a priority. The rest will be released after the commission submits its report,” Shivakumar said.

A judicial probe into corruption in contract works is being headed by retired HC judge B Veerappa.

The judicial investigation into the contractors’ 40 per cent commission allegations is being led by retired judge Nagmohan Das.
