Bengaluru: The Mysuru Vande Bharat Express that runs between Chennai Central and Mysuru is the fastest rain covering this route making a stop in Bengaluru.
The train covers a distance of 497 kilometres in just 6 hours and 30 minutes. While this is one of the most expensive trains from Chennai to Mysuru, on September 9, the train was delayed by over 40 minutes while reaching Bengaluru.
The train was supposed to reach KSR Bengaluru by 10:15 am, but owing to an unexpected stop at the Whitefield railway station for 20 minutes, the train arrived by 10:59 am.
A regular passenger of the Vande Bharat Express, who travels between Chennai and Bengaluru every weekend, said that she was "very disappointed" with the recent delay.
She said that she usually chooses the train because it is on time and comfortable, despite its high price.
Another passenger, who was travelling on the train for the first time, said that he was "dismayed" by the delay. He questioned the point of having such expensive fares and fancy doors if the train could not arrive on time.
Some passengers were seen discussing the fate of the Indian Railways, wondering if an "expensive" and "fastest" train like the Vande Bharat Express cannot arrive on time, what hope is there for the "cheaper" trains.
Several passengers were frustrated by the delay of the Vande Bharat Express.
The station master told News Trail that this was the first time the train had been delayed and that it was usually only delayed by 4 to 5 minutes. He alleged that the delay was due to the unavailability of a platform.
