Bengaluru: A tragic incident occurred in Doddaballapur on Saturday, resulting in the unfortunate death of a 28-year-old woman named Nandini.
She was riding her scooter with a child when they encountered a stray dog near Kongadiappa College. In an attempt to avoid hitting the dog, Nandini fell from her scooter and was subsequently run over by a truck, which dragged both her and the scooter for a distance.
Nandini suffered severe head injuries, while the child remained unharmed. Promptly, locals transported the injured woman in an autorickshaw to the government hospital, but sadly, she did not respond to treatment and passed away.
The Doddaballapur Rural police have filed a case and taken possession of the involved truck. In another unfortunate incident on the same day, an employee of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers (MCF) faced a serious injury during a multi-car accident at Jeppinamogaru on the national highway.
In CCTV footage, a truck rear-ended a stationary car, causing a chain reaction.
A car following the truck came to a halt due to the collision but was struck from behind by a speeding Kerala Road Transport Corporation bus. The second car was completelycrushed between the truck and the bus.
