Bengaluru: The city police arrested a woman and her associate on Friday for allegedly blackmailing a female MBA student with a private video.

The duo, identified as Nayana and Kiran, were apprehended by the police. It was revealed that Nayana was a relative of the victim. According to the police, the accused ran a hotel in Kenchanapura on Kengeri Main Road on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The MBA graduate frequently visited the hotel with her boyfriend. According to the complaint, the accused encouraged them to spend time together in a hotel room, where they secretly recorded the couple's private moments using a hidden spy camera.

Later, Kiran edited the footage and sent it to the girl on WhatsApp. He promptly deleted the video after the girl saw it but demanded Rs 1 lakh from her.

The accused threatened to post the video on social media and share it with all her contacts if she failed to pay. It is reported that along with Kiran, Nayana also blackmailed and threatened the complainant.

Unable to endure the harassment any longer, the victim filed a police complaint with the Chandra Layout police station. Based on the complaint, the police tracked down and apprehended the accused.
