‘Answers due on Sept 20, 21’, DKS hints at more inductions

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday threatened to “answer certain people on 20 and 21” of September, sparking speculation that Congress would poach more leaders and even sitting MLAs from the BJP and JD(S).

The poaching has been euphemistically christened “Operation Hasta” based on Congress's hand symbol. He made the comments at the Bharat Jodo Hall in Bengaluru while welcoming 15 local leaders, including former corporators, from BJP and JD(S) into the party fold.

Most of them were disgruntled saffron party workers from Padmanabhanagar, former Deputy CM R Ashok’s constituency.

“Me, Ramalinga Reddy (Transport Minister) and our office bearers will come together and strengthen your hands,” Shivakumar told the new inductees.

“We have something more planned for the dates 20 and 21. Certain people need to be answered and will gladly oblige,” he added.
